I find this in no way insulting, but when I was told that insurance companies give out cheaper car insurance to women, I went ballistic with joy. Even if they think that all women, no matter if they are in their early 30s or 60s, drive like old ladies; the bottom line is we get cheaper policies. I have not read any research about the statistics, but from my observation, women are more responsible drivers than men. Even a teenage rebel drives safer than her father. This could be a reflection of how feminine and gentle women are, even on the road. I rarely see women speeding either, maybe they’re afraid of getting speeding tickets or they just don’t want to mess up their hair. I’ve seen men drive their expensive sports cars like it had rocket propelled engines, but never women who happen to be driving the same vehicle. I’m glad that the women’s lib movement forgot to ask insurance companies to give us similar fees on car insurance. Of course, age and sex are only small variables when monthly premiums are calculated, but it’s one of the major factors. The other could be the type of vehicles most women opt to own, but that’s another story.
